I'm beginning to understand the frustration: One comment has managed to devolve the entire topic into something completely off point. DOES anyone know if "How to Beat Your Dad at Chess" is available in PGN form??
How to Beat Your Dad at Chess

Pwncrusher,
I have not seen it anywhere in PGN format.
I am not sure it would make a lot of sense in PGN format as the text explanations are what makes the book valuable for those who are not fully familiar with tactics.

now you know, goldendog, why barney only had one bullet..... after shooting himself in the foot, he couldn't hurt anyone else... haha.

Can the moderator please delete the off-topic comments? I don't see why anyone should go through two pages of non-relavent text just to find an anwser to a simple question.
The OP...keeps making new accounts to side with himself. His Idraw3G, recor1, greenlantern666, davidhoward...all have 1 pt and were created today. lol...my god, this is funny. It's not bipolarity, it's Multiple Personality Disorder.
My dad is actually pretty strong, stronger than most of the people on this site, I can only rarely beat him, and thats only with a knight handicap, he's an expert.

Admittedly I have too much time on my hands...but this thread is turning into the light of my night.
Opie Taylor, Richie Cunningham. Not that it matters.

This thread is far better now that it's yours AfafBouardi. The first post now matches the ridiculousness of the rest of the thread and, by virtue of it's being the new "original post", is perfectly relevant.

I can beat your dad.
I wonder who is the strongest parent-kid combination? I know several cases of GMs whose kids just don't play chess at all. There's the baseball cases, like Bobby & Barry Bonds, the Griffeys, the incredible Alous, the Boones, and then some other lesser knowns that really don't belong in this even-more-off-topic post. You know, like the Hairstons.

I bought my son both Chandler books and a membership to this site - probably in the hope of having a good chess buddy when I get old and wrinkley who can put up with the smell for long enough to play me a few games.
He's only read a few pages of both. I reckon they're actually written for adults who like pictures in their chess books. He likes tactics trainer better. It's more immediate and therefore child-friendly than a book.

Smyslov's dad was decently strong, though not a master, maybe 1st category.
Maybe someone can clarify.
edit: Then there were the Bardwicks of Colorado. Son a USCF master, father peak rating of 2148.

Hey, do they have any such thing? Parent child chess tournaments? Husband wife tournaments? That would be cool.

As a gimmick they could be double-simuls. More realistically, they could be cumulative score tournaments.

Poor Socko kids Bartosz is rated 2643
And Carlsen has once beaten his dad in an official tournament!

Don't forget the Alomar's.
..and I have learned that "stupid morons" are even worse than the regular "morons."
Can't beat the free education one gets here!
