There are probably more effective methods, but this book search is the only one I know:
How to find antiquarian chess books
If you haven't done so already you might try the Caissa Editions Bookstore, run by Dale Brandreth. He has a large selection of old chess books, including chess problems books. His catalogue is online (chessbookstore.com) but payment is by check through the old-fashioned mail. Good luck in your search!

The book search tool I listed above will find listings from Abebooks, Alibris, Biblio, Amazon, and others. It's not bad.
I did bookmark Brandreth's site, though. I might possibly use it sometime in the future. Thanks, Reyesian!

Yes I have found books and mags on Dale's site that no one else every listed not now or 5 years ago. Most of the good stuff you won't find at such places as Abe's but I did just buy one book there a couple weeks ago!
Bought a fairly common books Marshalls my Fifty Years (original hardback) but the prices haven't been too common. Seems people feel that book is worth $100 and it is very common so I waited and waied and searched for a long time and got it in very good condition, I hope, for about $29 with shipping.
Of course you pay right away with those sewrvices then comes the wait 1-2-4 weeks. This book wasn't cheap and no tracking number was taken out. SO nect step was to email Abe's Books who in turn emails the real supplier who then emails me (this process alone can take 3 days to communicate) and say he never buys tracking numbers because it costs extra with USPS MEDIA MAIL. So dealing with Abe's book or any of the others isn't really dealing with Abe's books as they have hundreds of book shops signed onto them.
I have dealt with Dale and I can tell you he is 100% reliable and trustworthy on description and condition of books.
I am interested in purchasing old chess problems books by the following authors:
But I don't know how to go about finding their books. Does anybody have any tips for someone looking to buy specific old books?
