The general advice is to spend time going over your own games at the board first before using Fritz. Make notes, questions, etc. Then you can set Fritz up to analyze the game overnight to check for blunders, better moves, etc. by changing parameters. But do the hard work first on your own, don't go first to the engine.
Here's a link to an old article for Fritz 8 but the settings, while in a slightly different interface, are still valid for overnight analysis.

I just purchased Fritz 13 off of Amazon.com. It should be here come Tuesday. Any tips on how to use this game to imrpove? I'm looking forward to trying it out. I also got the book "the Life and Games of Tal"..which I keep hearing is a terrific read. Happy Checkmating To All
