Back in 2006, I had the pleasure to visit Budapest. While I was there I played some chess with local players at the public baths and a subway station. I've never found the plastic set that we used, but Mike Ladzinski was kind enough to sell me the wooden version, shown here with a 2.375 Ferrer

@Suboseg what a great bit of history, and very nice pics to go with it. I really appreciate it.

i own one of the cheaper 50s wooden sets. The molded knights are very heavy actually.
