Great to see Silman on there, although the Endgame Course is probably the one book of his where I can follow most of the lines in my head...

Read the first chapter of Streetfighting Chess the other night, btw. Really enjoying it! :)

The video also shows How to Reassess your Chess...so maybe?? Email the site , they are very quick to respond. Maybe checkout smart chess app. It's not as polished as e+chess but its on sale and it's another option

I imagine it takes significant time and effort to convert a book to electronic format, even if one has the text in machine-readable form already. It is great that e+chess has some good books in the pipeline. Maybe once people start purchasing them in numbers they can hire more staff to do conversions and the library will grow a bit faster. Until then, we may have to be patient. A potential problem is if everyone waits for their favourite chess book to be published by e+chess before they buy the app, the company may run out of steam. I hope that doesn't happen.

However, so far the titles are really high quality books and work excellently in the new format!

Apart from that one... what's it called... Streetfighting Chess? Dreadful book - absolutely dreadful! Wink

Seriously, based on the reviews I've read (on chess.com, and the one by Geoff Chandler) and the sample chapter, I've ordered a copy and can't wait to get stuck in. Smile

I read the Capablanca book that came with the App.  Never read it; always wanted to; most of the book seemed trivial until some rook endings that were pretty deep for me.  No offense to Streetfighter, but the other titles available right now are not at the top of my to read list.  So I just ordered SmartChess and played around with an included lesson for about 10 mins.  I liked the App better so I bought the Reti book - - never read that one either - - to see if a dead tree book would work the same way.  It does.

Even though I like the Smartchess App better, it really is going to come down to which App has content I want to read.  Let's hope the competition speeds both companies up.

The current version of Smartchess doesn't work properly on iPad 3, due to the higher screen resolution.

According to the Smartchess developers, a fixed version for the new iPad has been submitted to Apple and should appear in the App Store once it has been validated.

Is it free?

Stockfish has downloads for iphone, touch and ipad, my question is will it work on an apple macbookpro?

Sigh yet another app that arbitrarily requires iOS 4.3 or newer when my ipod touch 2nd gen only supports up to 4.2.  Be honest, was that really necessary for this app?

I find e-plus chess books simply amazing in iPad! In iPhone it will be too small (screen size) to be of any help but anyone used it in an iPad Mini? How does it look? I am asking because your screen size has to be divided into half for text and half for the chess board. So not sure if it would be looking too small in iPad Mini too.

Is there any other competitor to this product that offers similar functionality?
