Is there anyone who has used 2.5" king chess set & 12" chess board?

I want mini chess set for analysis purpose, but do not know whether this size is pleasant.

Thanks.

If it is just for analysis that is a decent size. I use smaller sets (1.75") than that for analysis and they are fine.

I also have a 2.25" set that I have used and it is a very nice size.

For analysis as well as a casual non-tournament game alike, I cannot recommend highly enough the Marshall Library set available from USCF Sales... 2.875" king height.  It's an extremely pleasant set to hold and maneuver, equally pleasant to look at (in my opinion), and just all-around the best of both worlds (analysis/casual play).

I concur.  The Marshall 2-7/8 inch plastic set is an excellent set.  I own two of them.  Available in various color combinations. Heavily weighted as well.  With an appropriately sized board (1.75 inch squares) I see no reason it shouldn't be used at the club as well - takes up less space on the table which can be used for other things like clock and game score sheet, etc.

With this set, for analysis, I use the HOS folding linen board with 1.75 inch squares...it's inexpensive...

For analysis purposes, the following set should also do the job...

I agree on the Marshall Library set for non tourney set for casual play and analysis. However you can also get a DGT Grey Starter Box as a set to do both as well.

Brunson.  those are beautiful sets.  I have a tiny set.  King is 1 1/8 tall, the second the king is  2 inches, a third, the King is 2 3/4. the fourth is 3 1/4 and my decorative set is a 4 1/2.  DoI need more sets.  No. Three I use for study, set 4 and 5 sleep in boxes.  I still would not mind having a set or two like yours.  Very nice.

Here's some old 2 1/4 inch King pieces (Drueke No. 11) along with a 12 inch board with 1 1/4 inch squares (Drueke board no. 131). I do like them visually but prefer the sets with a 2 1/2 inch King for analysis - I think that this size of a board is a bit small for a 2 1/2 inch King.

The gray and white rollup mat from Chesshouse.com is 1 7/8".  That old wooden slab from Bentley's Luggage and Gifts (early 1990s) is 1 5/8".  The Marshall Library set also fits quite well on rollup analysis boards with 1.5" squares, which, with or without notation, fits nicely on a desk (as shown here):

Here is the original set of pieces that came with the wooden board from Bentley's Luggage and Gifts (in post #4)... 3" king height.

Mixfra, that paring from Drueke in post #8 looks phenomenal!  I love those knights... they look a bit like panthers, in my opinion.

Thanks Benjamin. It was not planned but they work together well! The knights are very interesting indeed... I wish the set weighed a little more, especially the pawns.

If I knew how to post a picture on sites I would but I am obviously computer illiterate.  I have a camera that operates with SD cards and my laptop has an SD slot.

Very nice looking sets.  I could be addictive, but my finances really stop me.  When I look for a chess set the single most significant factor for me is the appearance of the Knight.  If the Knight looks dorky I just don't bother to look further.
