I've tested a few openings and find the English to end up with the most interesting middle-games I've had so far, so I want to make a deep dive. Is this the best book on the topic? I am an 1100 player (Daily) and have gotten through about half the lessons on chess.com

Well! That's a comprehensive guide to the English Opening. But considering the complexity, more focus on high-level content while less on the fundamentals might not make it a great deal for a beginner. Besides, 1100 might not define your actual level as that's based on how many games you have played and with what level of players. So, if you have gained a considerable hold on the basics, you might as well think of giving it a trial. But nothing's for sure here.
