Issue with Blue Saitek Competition Clocks

I've been having an issue with more than one of these Saitek clocks. They will sometimes reset, seemingly randomly, in the middle of the game. Has anybody else had this issue/does anybody have a solution?

I have used the blue Saitek many times and have never had that happen to me.  I think what Adrian said is probably the case.

Yeah; the compartment does seem to be a bit loose and seems to allow a little elbow room for the battery. How do you recommend fixing it? Is there some padding I can use?

Maybe bye a roll of velcro and put a small piece on the battery and the other on the clock.

Glue a piece of foam or felt on the back of the cover or try to get a piece of the rolled foam tape used fo insulating door jambs.

that's why i bought a chronos, and it's been 100% trouble-free for almost ten years now.  :)

Yeah I know, I love chronos too, but didn't make sense to spend the money as we were buying 8 of them for a high school chess club.

Thanks for the suggestions!
