Kindle chess books.

Does anybody have any experience of reading chess books on Kindle? Is it a similar experience to reading the traditional book with actual covers, paper and ink? Kindle books are sometimes a little cheaper but I am kind of worried that it might be kind of awkward to have a diagram on one page and the analysis on another page since you can only view one page at a time on the kindle I have. Well...I might be answering my own question here....but Id like to know what other players think anyway.

Nearly all Kindle books allow you to download sample chapters for free.

Pick out a book and see how the sample looks to you.

Like previous said, get samples from the book that interest you. I had more hits than miss. Sometimes diagrams are too small or the chapters badly (or not at all) referenced which can be annoying when looking for something specific. But most of my books are on kindle which saves a lot of space and money

Thanks for the advice....I did download a sample of the new Chigorin move by move book. Honestly, something didnt feel quite right reading a chess book on the kindle. Part of the problem might be that the screen size on the kindle I have is kind of small and its kind of annoying to have to turn the page to see the full variation of what I want to study. Or maybe I just feel more of a connection with the more traditional format of books for chess.

Yes, it's not unusual with the move by move who are (the few I have) quite well done on kindle. But good that you checked with a sample. I guess it's also a habit thing. If you like tactic/study books you might check some out on kindle who are extremely well done and pleasant to read.

Yes...I can imagine that tactics books can be excellent on kindle....diagram on one page...solution on the next page.
