Really nice work and nice set of skills!  I don't think many people could ever tell the difference with the real deal if it was sitting in front of them.

Awesome work! Also, the pictures posted on #28 for reference are stunning. Beautiful design and carving.

In an effort to help build the perfect beast - some close ups of my Lardy. Note the very slight angle on the mouth - intentional or not - it has a powerfully good impact on the knight - people comment that it is like a smirk 😏… the knight knowing what it’s next move will be …please note - any leans are simply the phone camera distorting the photo at such close proximity. The pieces are perfectly straight. I how these photos help.

I am finally back at this after a 1 year and 1 month hiatus, due to my marriage ending. Now I am back at it, getting progress on the Knights done. The majority of the carving is done, and the knights are ready for final sanding and then final assembly. Enjoy the updates!

@Ibuildchess. Wow, the progress on your Lardy sets look incredible! I remember when you first started this project and wondered if it ever was completed. I can't wait to see how the finish looks on the cherry and white oak, dark pieces. I bet the color and grain will just come alive with that first coat. Thank you for taking the time to post.

The pieces look great. Although the contrast between the black and white pieces seems to be minimal. It would be great to see how they come up finished.

Thanks @pawnerai ! It was definitely collecting dust in the shop for over a year, it was hard to find my motivation for a while, but things are starting to come back to normal for me.

Yes I agree, I am excited to see the finished product and how they all turn out, I think there will be a good contrast between all of them, the oak should be very interesting to see! I'm glad you appreciate it!
