This man is a legend in New Zealand chess. 20 plus time N.Z. Champion. His book I am looking for is this one ...

Wow, Ron you never make easy searches do you bro? There will a copy sitting somewhere in a second hand book store I bet.

The only one I've seen is 'Mr Chess' by him.

I hope you find it. You probably will- with your determination. Ronbo could find and buy the  'Holy Grail' if he put his mind to it.

LOL Thanks  . I just think there might be pictures of my recent chess set I believe was used in the New Zealand Championship in that book. In fact, on the cover,  I think he is taunting me with a rook from that set LOL.

They're really cool Ron- love the sunken finial on his majesty. Whats the weight like in them?

Thanks. They're so solid they feel like they're weighted. That was what drew them to me and how I knew they were old pieces. Modern cheap plastic sets are hollowed out. The kings are 1.92 oz's (54.6 gms). In this pic you can see how solid the rooks are The holes in the bottom of the pieces stays narrow and is about 1/2" in depth. I believe for cooling during the making process.

Sarapu's book is one I don't know or have. I do have 'Mr Chess' What is needed is an updated NZ chess bibliography and hopefully a lot better than the one we put in 'The Chess Literature of Australia and New Zealand' 2011. Bob Meadley
