I had one piece that was like that. I took the felt off, grinded it down, and glued the felt back on. Great.

Thanks. I like to play with my camera so, once I gave up on trying to do the pieces justice with my iphone camera, I just messed around. I'll likely take a shot at doing some of my other sets at some point.

My set turned out fine. I was surprised. For the price I paid, I wasn't expecting them to be so good.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the CB pieces. they are a nice blend of traditional staunton with a modern twist. Cheers, John C.

Now I've not seen the set but obviously it even has a slight liberty vibe,this has excellent design elements which unify and harmonize the set. John you should order one in ebony as you put forth in your enthusiastic review.

These sets are interesting but the point of this thread was really that I was looking for a cheapish, sturdy set that will take a beating. These are really just too fancy. Thanks, though.

Ok placed my order on 4/1 here comes Fedex on the 3rd so two day delivery. I wish I could post pics but Moriarty did great job. (Can't figure out posting pics from iPhone. These pieces are actually very nice better than I hoped for. Very high quality well designed quickly shipped. I'm calling this set Conquest.
Cool! It's amazing how quick they ship their sets. Conquest is a great name for it. For what it's worth, I tried doing iphone pics, too, but couldn't really get anything that looked decent so I went old school and dusted off my SLR and flash. Made for a fun project.
