Looking for books

He folks,

I used to have an account here (whizzkey), but I lost my password and erased that e-mail account.

3 questions:

- I'm looking for the very good book that focusses on the queen pawn's game. Got any tips?

- I saw the book 'The Dynamic English' by Tony Kosten in a store yesterday, is it good? What do you guys think? My current rating is around 1600, maybe it's too hard?

- Any good recommendations on other books? Gotta make a wish-list for Christmas ;-)

Thanks! Cheers!

A very good book on d4 openings is "Mastering the closed game" by Edmar Mednis. he goes over major d4 openings and defences with great explanations! A very good book!

I actually have "The Dynamic English" by Tony Kosten. Unfortunately it's sittting on my shelf and I won't get a chance to look at it in a while. If you plan to play or learn English opening then it's one of the best books on that subject. I don't think it should be all that difficult.

Definitely take a look at Mednis' book. You won't be dissapointed!

anything by dr max euwe.
1. Hes dutch(writes dutch)
2. Hes a teacher(math)
3. Hes a GM
So he writes great chess books, which are good to follow and completely explained.
Im reading "praktische schaaklessen 1/4" and "handboek voor de gevorderde schaker".
Both a bit old, but especially the second one is highly recommendable.

good luck
