Is there anyone who uses this board?

I am looking for more pictures of it.

It looks like a nice veneer board probably Spanish or Italian.

I own a Rechapados Ferrer board very similar to it.

cgrau, tell me about that clock...can't make out the name.  looks like it has that alternate scale for the last 5 minutes like the clock I bought.  Looks good!

Exactly what I wanted!

Your set looks gorgeous happy.png

It looks like a Vovana Burl & Maple Superior Chessboard.

I was hesitant to buy it because it looks shiny in the product picture,

but now I realized that it is matte-finished(?), which is elegant happy.png

I have a very similar one from Chessbazaar. It's a 24 " board and is very nice.I also just bought their Luxury Sheesham 21" board.I really need to stop spending so much on chess,as I bought a load of  different pieces recently and a nice clock, not to mention 8 books.I guess I'm commited.....or....need to be commited.-happy.png

nice magic, I hear ya I just spent about 500 myself!  But think of it this way...regardless how much you play or don't play, it's always a nice decoration!  In fact I was thinking about getting one of those picture frame boards that holds the pieces vertically, only issues is they only accomodate 3.5" king sets I believe.

Yes, that is a Dutch Koopman clock from the 1960s. Many thanks.

Thanks! It's an Official Staunton 1871 ebony reproduction. 4.4" kings. Heavily weighted. Gorgeous set.

I don't want to steal this thread, but I think chess is a very collectible hobby.Obviously, playing and improving is a total blast(I enjoy study as well, whether games played by others or book study...not to mention this site as well....a ton of stuff) however when you consider the expense of a nice set or board,it is far less costly than many, many other hobbies......and....chess,at least to me,is an art form.

Indeed, magictwanger, chess is Art.

Cgrau, is that HOS Morphy set by the clock?

No Mark, it's an Official Staunton 1871 set in ebony.
