Are there any regular wooden chessboard (1 piece or foldable) that are magnetic and thin (like the regular boards). I don't like the bulk of the ones that hold pieces.

Wood isn't magnetic.

There are plenty of wooden boards that have magnetic pieces inside each square. Boards are not made out of a magnetic plate. You do know that right?

Think, people. There are plenty of wooden folding sets that have a magnetic plate in them. 30 seconds spent on a search would reveal that.

Ah, but are there any that are only the board with no piece storage part?

How difficult can it be to find this? Difficult! They are all foldable with storage. I use this one but the board is printed wood. It is not real wood. https://www.chesshouse.com/products/12-magnetic-travel-chess-set-in-rosewood.

Just rip/tear out the part inside that holds the pieces in! Anyway, you won't care about that part when you store your loose pieces inside. Easier than finding the travel chess set with this uncommon requirement.

That's not the point of my response. People are busy correcting him instead of answering the question.

Well, there are the ones sold by The Chess House.  I own one of them also.  I forgot about them because they come in a box with piece storage.  However, the thing I forgot was the board can easily be removed from the box.

Unusual. Do you have the name or link to chesshouse.com?

Largest non-folding magnetic board is 12". Have you seen anything bigger?

Jeff2E161

May not be exactly what you are looking for but it is bigger (I think).  Hard to tell the actual size of the playing surface.  https://www.etsy.com/listing/660083026/black-chess-set-magnetic-chess-game?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=magnetic+chess+set&ref=sc_gallery-1-1&plkey=50393f42c2b59fe83438a480bb2ec931920bfe19%3A660083026&frs=1
