Marshall 1900 from CB

I just got the 3.75 antiqued Marshall 1900 in boxwood and ebony from CB so I thought I'd put some pics up. Sorry but the photos are pretty crappy as they're taken with my phone.

While I'm quite pleased with the set one thing that is a little disappointing is the colour of the light pieces. What you see in my photos and the ones on the CB site is not the same as what they look like IRL, they're actually orange. You might say yes they are orange but I mean they're a brighter shade of orange than what you see in the photos. Other than that it's a really nice set, well weighted with wide bases that make it a pleasure to play with. It may be a little tight for some on the 55mm squares pictured but it's not too bad.

A classic style set, nice! Congratz mister!

It's tough to capture the color in photos especially when you have light on. Best is using natural light from the window with no light on, this way It's the most natural looking color you can capture.

Very nice! Thank you for sharing your new set with us. Good choice there @Tank1366.

Thanks for posting @Tank1366 . I’m intrigued by the colour! On the surface ‘orange’ does not sound appealing but … I can actually imagine such a colour ageing well. Perhaps becoming more muted and more a ‘burnt orange’ which might look great. Good to see a different set - thanks again.

Tanks for the advice Michael, and have no doubt that it's solid advice as you have the best photos I've seen on here. So much so that I have to confess that I've borrowed a few that I alternate for the back round on my computer.

Tanks @Wits-end, I have to admit that I am pleased with my choice after the initial slight disappointment at the colour which I now put down to it just not being what I expected. I actually like the colour now that I've had a couple days with the set.

You actually hit the nail on the head @Powderdigit, it is what can best be described as burnt orange and I like it now lol. The fact that it's an odd colour and I like the overall design of the set has now got me thinking of asking CB if they can make one in natural boxwood and rosewood or padauk. Just so I can mix and match them from time to time.

Congrats! I agree with @Powderdigit as well. As it ages, the color should mellow out a bit. I don't leave my sets out, so mine pretty much stays the same color. You might want to leave your new set out to let it darken.

My CB antiqued set has become much better/more natural tan/tea look over that past year or so. I really like my 1849 set from them but I must say it's probably the only negative critique I have with the set.  Strictly speaking on the antiquing I will say I like CB's antiquing the least.
