ioho-Noj is the King Kong of Modern Dubrovnik type chess sets, and likewise, HOS is the King Kong of Modern Staunton type chess sets.

But, we must say, as far as modern available sets go, this one here (link) simply floats our boat. Totally bad to the bone Money MouthCoolLaughing

You mean, bad to the 'ivory.' I could almost afford bone.

On a pedestal (out of reach for small hands).

Awesome

And with my CB Zagreb:

I want a board that's not quite as dark as this one for this set.

Mazkor, I like the contrast between the sheesham and the darker squares. Looks great.

Love it, Frank!

yes, this is a Jaques from around 1895 (Hartston knights), very fun to play with, and still in fairly good shape.

Looks, great, Fox!

Very nice, Bob. Especially love the board. What does the King say?

Blackfoxx

Thanks! After reading those two comments I find my own set a little more special +) Very interesting to see all those various sets.

Makke_Mus

I asked him exactly that during the heated discussion about Chessbazaar's repro knight, but he didn't wanna answer... But the company is actually called The English Chess Company, right?

Makke_Mus

I have to say that the recessed (spelling?) playing surface looks good there. I never cared for that much, but might have to reconsider.

Makke_Mus

Alright, thanks for the explenation!

Personally I wouldn't like any stamps on my king, but I don't like logos as a matter of principle. The set looks very nice though.
