Last night's set-up.  An HOS Zukertort set (thanks, Mike!) with a 4.0" King on a 2.5" Jaques of London board. Served with Andechs, Augustiner, und Ayinger Helles.

Nice! Don't know what I like more, the board or the book (it's been on my wishlist for a while).

But, man of many loves, it is sometimes hard to choose. Sometimes the mood, something like chess heteronomy.

Truly fantastic collection. I sure hope its somewhere out of the sunlight.

I'm pretty sure that's just the first twenty-one sets.

I bet you're right! I took a count of my own collection the other day. Let's just say that I'm still in double digits and leave it at that. My wife has gone so far as to ask me if there is a twelve-step program for chessplayers.

LOL !   What does your wife collect ?  Shoes ?  Purses ?  I bet there's something ...  Wink

Yikes !  Sorry to hear that ! Fortunately for me my wife is just as chess crazy as me , she was even the president of the Lisbon Chess Association and VP of the Portuguese Chess Federation both ! I was never into the politics of chess but through her I learned enough to be glad I never got into the politics of chess !

Reb, my wife is one of those people who, sadly, collect nothing. It's hard to believe that such people exist, but it's true. I, on the other hand, have fairly large collections of chess books, sets, clocks, and a few boards, as well as cameras (film type), pens, and watches. Thinking about it, she might actually have a point.

In your case, Robert, I would say that you and your wife are complementary, and that respecting differences is very important to a healthy relationship. My wife likes shoes and purses, which have overrun my side of the closet. That and I have learned the fine art of hiding chess sets and boards in plain sight. And to have them delivered to my office.

The remnants of the last few deliveries in a corner of my office.

Luft, I collect chess sets, chess boards, and chess mailing boxes. Only the sets and boards make it home. I can't seem to part with the exotic mailing containers.
