My parents' set

In the seventies, my parents bought this set - which apparently wasn't cheap - but never really played with it.

My father passed last year, and my mom moved recently and didn't want to take the set along, so I adopted it.

There's a rather pretty board to go with it, but I haven't had the time to take pics of it.

I kinda like the tall elegance if the king and queen :-)

The pawns look very bavarian / alpine

Has anyone seen pieces like these before?
