My Shkolnik III set + what 16" chess board should I get?

Well, this is actually a set I have in my possession until I gift it to my stepson for Christmas, but today I ordered the same set for myself as well.

This is the original chess board it came with, which I think looks okay. The set I ordered comes with a really ugly and quite deteriorated chess board.

Can anyone recommend where I could get a nice chess board that would fit this set? The king is 3.15" (8 cm). I’ve seen some stunning purple heart chess boards that would probably go well with the purple walls of my office, but they’re pricy, and all larger than the 16" I think I need.

Maybe standard black is the way to go? Regency Chess has a 15.75" wenge and maple chess board that looks pretty nice as well. But do white pieces even look good on that?

Something like a borderless padauk chess board could be lovely as well. It just seems silly to spend C$200 or more on a board for a plastic chess set.
