new autobiographies by Jeremy Silman and Asa Hoffmann

I subscribe to a few chess sites and have chess as a "following" topic in my Google News Feed.  A few weeks ago there was a news release about a new autobiography from a  grandmaster (I think).  The book is not about individual games with analysis but is a reflection on his life in chess.  I saved the tab from that article but didn't bookmark it.

In the course of doing some sort of browser cleanup I managed to wipe out all of my open tabs.  Can anyone help me with finding this book?  TIA-  WyoDan56

Hmm.  I think you need to come up with more clues.

According to his book's marketing blurb on Amazon Asa Hoffman was a FIDE Master (not GM)....

However Jeremy Silman is an IM and a very well known chess book author, with several best selling chess books....

Asa Hoffmann is a fascinating character.    I met him and lost at least one game to him at the Bar Point on 14th Street in Manhattan in the early 80's.   I look forward to reading more of The Last Gamesman .

[Edited the forum title so more people might become aware of these new books.- jbf]

I was looking for books like these just the other day. Anyone recommend any others? A nice collection of biographies of all world champs would be nice.
