We have the same set! We have ebonized boxwood, not ebony. Just played on it tonight. It is truly beautiful. The weight is perfect. I love the TAKE THAT thud when you push a piece!! The drawers are awesome... did you know you can adjust them somewhat? We did.

Just recieved in the mail a beautiful Rekjavik II Tournament set with a beautiful Tiroir to play and store it on.
The pieces are ebonized, sorry couldn't get more pricey then that. However, they are beautiful, no complaints there at all. I absolutely love the wieght of the pieces. I have been playing on a folding wood case set I bought at a market in Mexico 10 or so years ago. It is unweighted and who knows what wood it is made of. So this is a serious upgrade for me.
Now the questions:
1. I know HOS says to use dry waxes and such on their pieces and boards in general, does this go for the Tiroir board as well and ebonized pieces?
2. Any concerns with storing the pieces in the Tiroir? That is precisely the reason I bought it so I would hope not.
3. I now have the problem of finding a table to display this thing on as it is quite a bit larger then I had expected(not complaining in any way mind you). So does anyone have a suggestion for what to put this sucker on?
Anyone that is interested, it is a beautiful piece, and the drawers in the tiroir are well made and lined.
