could you share where this set can be purchased online? I haven't been able to find it in any Google searches...

Sixteen teams played in the Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia, Chess Olympiad
1st Yugoslavia 45.5 points
2nd Argentina 43.5
3rd West Germany 40.5
4th United States 40.0
The French team featured a female player, Chaude de Silans.

I love the set, but for a 500 Euro price tag it's not even something I could entertain getting. To bad a plastic version isn't available. :)

I believe a plastic set IS currently available, though I don't know from where. I do know other members have posted pics on a different forum topic. I will try to find out which.

Thanks for the link, informaticacobach29 - Looks like a fairly decent replica of the 1970s style Dubrovnik, except for size and wood choice. Reasonably priced as well for a set using ebony.
I suspect HoS monitors forums like this one and decided to launch a Dubrovnik replica based on the evident popularity of this design in many threads here...

Wonder what you guys think about this one? Obviously not heirloom quality, but looks to be quite the bargain.

Here's s some pictures of the new HOS Dubrovnik set. What do you think?
Another version of 1950 Dubrovnik set. Owner claims it was given to his friend at the Olympiad for being a runner.
