Yes Eva, that first one is what I got from Oldset. I think the war has affected his business.

One thing for sure.....I am enamored with quite a few of the sets shown here, though I own a few. Thank goodness I don't have anymore room for sets. I really don't.

So easy to rationalize....Ha.

One word @mjeman:

Stately.

I think you hit a home run with the set and board combination. Enjoy and appreciate you sharing the pics.

It definitely did, but yesterday I learned that Oldset passed back in February. sad.png

So sad. He made so many amazing sets. Such a great loss.

Yes, it's quite nice. Another set I bought with antiquing was an objectionable butterscotch color. I'm happy with this one.

Yeah....I have one butterscotch set. I've learned to live with it. Bought in my early collecting period.

The Bird’s Eye pattern looks quite attractive! Would you be willing to take a picture of your board in such a way that the texture becomes visible? I’m curious to know what it will look like on a chess board.

The pattern is very subtle, almost nonexistent.

OK, taking and putting a mini picture of what's inside. How cool is THAT!!! @mjeman Genius!!! Makes it so easy to look for a set !!!

Interesting! Thank you! I like how light the squares appear as well.
