Looks great, Ron! Thanks!
Official Staunton Mahogany, Palisander and Maple Board
Thank you, gentlemen.
What pictures cannot show is how solid this board is and feels. It is veneer but still quite heavy. Of course the frame is solid Mahogany.
Also, Palisander is usually a darker wood. But in these boards it looks more like a nicely grained Mahogany that I have in other boards.
This is going to be one of my regular boards to use. Of course Black pieces look nice on it also.
The 58mm/2.28" square size makes this perfect for sets with King base diameters from 1.65" to 1.75" sizes. That makes this board very suitable for this HoS Players Rosewood set, my OS Leuchars set, my OS Broadbent set, my CB Soviet Latvian set, and my HoS B H Wood Ebonized set.
The board was made in Italy, by the way.

I received my Official Staunton board last week and decided to use it in our rated game tonight.
cgrau asked me awhile back to show some pictures of board woods and colors that would go well with Rosewood and Sheesham. A couple of weeks ago I showed a board that went well with a HoS Golden Rosewood set that is also known as Sheesham.
When I received this board from OS I realized that it would be an excellent combination with Rosewood pieces. Here is the link for the board on the OS web site: https://www.officialstaunton.com/collections/chess-boards/products/mahogany-deluxe-solid-frame-chess-board
This is one of the nicest boards I now own. The square size is 58mm which turns out to be 2.28". This slightly larger than 2.25" square size makes it perfect for sets with a King base of 1.75" or there about.
So, here are some pictures of my HoS Players Series Rosewood set on this great board:
