PHOTO SHOOT: ChessBazaar's Amazing Ferocious Knights 1890's Russian Tournament Set in Crimson & Ivory White Lacquer. Many thanks to Gurpreet Singh Khokhar and ChessBazaar for making an absolute stunning reproduction of my original vintage set. ChessBazaar also offers this fabulous set in an Ebony/Boxwood combination. This set has it all, finely turned wide base pieces, exquisite hand carved Knights, and the choice of two wood/finish combinations. Here's the link:

If it's not ChessBazaar, I'll get purchase this set in a heartbeat. This is a beautiful set but ChessBazaar is still inconsistent with their quality.

Well done Mike and CB!  Although I'm not partial to the lacquer finish, this reproduction is true to your original chessmen.  Unique and just ferociously beautiful!  Details are very clear here.

Thanks Alan, I'm glad CB also offers Ebony/Boxwood as an option to the Red/Ivory Lacquer version.

Very nice set Mike !

Seems very well made, the proportions of the pieces is spot on, as well as the nice wide bases reminiscent of Jaques pieces especially the king and queen. The absolutely only thing I found myself not very fond of is the face of the knights...But I am no expert and am sure the reproduction was meant to capture the historical design of the set.

Job well done !
