Thanks Lofina. Some of those books I've had fifty years. I read some German, but no Russian.

it looks like most members here have Polgar's 5,000 + gigantic puzzle book 📚 on their shelves 😊

Those books are really inspiring and give perfect direction for the new chess player.

Can anyone spot the obvious spelling error in my pic? (post #45)

Fabulous chess book collection, Chessreader156 (and all others)! ...almost a chess book store... wink.png

I had just a few chess books (5) but gave them away, because I thought I won't need them anymore.

Didn't have time for chess anymore, you know... family... work... and other obligations. But now (some

30 years later) I have ordered 5 new chess books, to achieve my 'old strength'... happy.png

Keep on studying... happy.png

This weekend is the at a local book fair I was able to score a number of chess books, so I thought I would post photos of good fortune. All for under $25.

The Lawson Morphy book has been on my want list for some time, I had pickup the Chess Reader considering my user name. The duplicate Alekhines one will replace well worn paperback, and the other hardcover I'll save to trade at some point. Now to find time to read them all.

I had a book by Alekhine, signed by the author, limited edition. I found it in a flea market for something like 30 dollars! It was by far the most valuable piece in my chess library. Now it is gone, I sold it to a guy who has a museum about Alekhine. The book is in the right place. I didn't realize first that the signature was original and I was going through the games in the book, like drinking a coffee in a restaurant and playing the games in a physical board. If I would know...

There is another book is the "Schachzabelbuch" (author?). It seems very rare and collectible. I  sold it to a Swiss collector who read about my collection in the forum.

Anyway, amazing collection! I would love to have more space to display all my books, pieces, boards, clocks, computers. Perhaps in the next life...
