New study set. Impressive and very well made.
9 3/4 inch magnetic board. Why did I buy it? I need all of the help I can get, since my playing isn't too hot these days.

Btw, the board and dark pieces are a very nicely done Rosewood and quite a good finish on all of them. I was quite surprised with the quality overall....Just sayin'.
This still mint Drueke set was bought in 1981, when I worked down town (NYC) at the World Trade Center. Purchased at a Greenwich Village shop where Bobby Fisher played on occasion.
I kept the shop's business card, as seen. Really a finely crafted set.
@magictwanger, I might well have been the one to sell you that set. I worked evenings at the Village Chess Shop from 1980-82. George and Ruth were really nice people.
Oops! Just realized I worked days in lower Manhattan. I was a commuter and couldn't wait to get home to my family.....I wasn't a fan of the hustle and bustle of Manhattan working life back then. Lots of disingenuous people in my work place and I eventually opened my own small business across the river, in New Jersey. 35 years later I sold it....Gleefully retired!
Now, I romanticize about those early days, when I was young. I'd do it all over in a heart beat.
Forgot to mention...size is appx. 8.5 x 12 in.
Looks fantastic in design as well as functionality. Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks....I did add a pinch of my wife's nail polish to the tops of each King, so as to easily distinguish them on the board.
dont have one sry
