I'm happy I found a small "Latvian Mordovian" chess set from 1954.
Recently found this board, which works great with my Lardy Dogface set. 82 mm King, board has 44 mm squares.

Seen and seen again, I know ;-)
It took me several hours to get the color I hoped for. Initially, whites and blacks were practically identical.

Thx, @MCH818. I've never regretted a purchase made from anyone here on CB&E, and with this acquisition my record remains unblemished. I've been looking for a set of these for quite a while now, so this was just a spot of good luck in terms of timing. Folks know Victor has a few other sets for sale, right?
The slots for the pieces in the box is a brilliant idea. I'm fairly sure more photos will be needed for identification, though.

Wow! I hope others can provide more context. The set is wonderful! The box also is very interesting. Great find - one off or not - it’s a gem in my eyes. 👍PS - and for the trifecta, a great table too.
