Post Your Chess Sets

Another one of my sets, which I bought shortly after I rekindled my interest in chess a few months ago.
This is a Philos set, a company that very much dominates the German market on chessmen and boards. They give their sets random names (one of them is called "Tutenkhamen", although there's nothing remotely Egyptian about it), and this one's called "Valerian". It's actually a nice little set (king's height 8.9cm), but it also perfectly illustrates the dilemma of sheesham pieces, namely considerable differences in brightness.
Looks like a Taj Mahal to me.
That Manchester Staunton set is beyond stunning,as are the others listed here....but....My God! I love that Manchester set!

My latest chess set, named - somewhat arbitrarily - "Manchester Staunton", arrived from India this morning. This time I purchased directly from Chess by India, and they made the set for me within 2 weeks since it was out of stock.
The florid design with the conical collars suggests an Asian/indian style, some flower or tree perhaps? Any ideas? The king stands 4.5", and the pieces are triple-weighted (black king=105g, queen=95g, bishop=67g, knight=63g, rook=66g). The black pieces are made from African padauk (bud rosewood), but they're brighter in colour than my other bud rosewood sets). Set comes with 4 queens, of course.
As usual, the knights are the main attraction:
But all the pieces are very attractive, I'm really digging the conical collars.
This will take pride of place in my collection, next to the Mogul Stauntons from RoyalChessMall.
Them knight's " look like could be In a tim burton film "

What game am I reviewing?
Chess 😁
The players? Date? Location?
Here's a clue: White had his back turned towards the action that he sought.
Ooooh! Ooooh! I know!
I believe you.

That set is actually patterned after The Taj Mahal in India.

bought as a gift for me on one of the greek islands. not great to play with but i like it. was just working out the proportions to make a board using a surplus shelf and then decided to leave as is.
my 1960 russian grandmaster set.
finally my 1930 jaques london. weighted and fantastic to play with.

victorian from a house clearance in islington. just walked past the local clearance/antique shop and there it was.

Nice sets, I like that table too!
Very nice table , sure don't make them like that now !
nice set's too

Do they make cheap plastic versions of the world championship or standard DGT boards they use at elite tourneys?
My favorite of all designs that I own or have seen are still the HoS Collector's sets from the early 2000s. I also like one of my early Indian sets with the fat knights from a few years ago.
Another Indian Jaques clone.
Other favorites are the various Zagreb sets with contrasting colored finials and the classic 1970s Fischer period Jaques style sets. I do wish they would release a wooden version of the late Cavalier full sized sets. The ones that came in a blue box with transparent windows.

Méxican gandmade chess "Modelo Bobby". Mezquite (w) and Chechen (b). Peculiar find. Craft board commemorating the Mexico City 2007 championship.
