Printing BCE Blitz prototypes

Great photos, thanks for sharing. At first look at the third photo, I had thought you had ordered a Western-styled King but as I read the caption underneath it was a common Tournament set found here in the states. I would order the additional Western 3-D printed Kings and bishops once Izmet gets those details worked out for strength factors. The wood set perhaps later on in the latter months of 2020 for a possible purchase from Noj.

I received my printed set earlier this week, but haven't had a chance until now to post photos and my impressions.

Showing the Ultimate Chess pieces next to their counterparts in the BCE Blitz set.

The pieces are on a red Bobby Fischer mousepad board that I ordered especially for the set. Jonas recommended red for the yellow and black pieces, and I think they work well with them. The black pieces show up better on the red squares than with darker colors.                                                       In       From the photo with the BCE pieces placed next to their Ultimate set counterparts you can see that they are very close in size, the BCE pieces being slightly taller, but not a lot. I thought that the BCE base sizes, especially the bishops, were larger, but when I put them base to base, they were almost identical. The BCE bases just seem to be larger because the pieces are slenderer in form.                                               The BCE pieces are lighter than the ultimate, but just as stable, due to their low center of gravity design, making them well suited for blitz, I imagine. I'm going to be using them to play with friends, and to teach my kids chess. Both kids like the look and feel of them a lot.                                                     I think the BCE design is beautiful, combining classic form and clean modern lines, and I am grateful that Jonas has made them available for many of us, and at an affordable price for custom pieces.

     The felting and weighting are excellent, by the way.

Sorry about the goofy paragraph formatting and the hanging "In". I haven't gotten the hang of posting and editing yet.

I do like the shotgun shell style to rooks.

Fat Bottomed Girls song comes to mind. LOL! Can't wait until mine is made. I loved the looks of the 1st BCE that came out in 2012. Just was too expensive for me to get. Now I am happy to be able to afford to get a 3D printed version of it.

That's a fine set of hams.

@1517loft: Thanks for sharing the photos of your set, although yellow and pure white are a bit too harsh for my viewing tastes. I have 3 sets of the yellow Ultimates and that's plenty yellow for my cache fill of that type of colored chess set. As recommended I had the Vanilla white made and I contacted Mr. Gregor Novak about the making of the wooden "Blitz" BCE Stage 1 Eastern version in brown stained although not quite available for the offering, yet, it is being discussed with his father of a possible run sometime later in 2020. The pictures shown are screenshots I had taken of Izmet's video presentation to show the beauty of what Noj had made for him. It's only one of kind, so far. I hope to be one of the first in line to purchase this beautiful set in a Western and possible Eastern style as well soon. The pictures of only the maple and brown stained Eastern styled knights are as follows;

Unless you drew it. It's not yours. If someone else drew it and makes no copyright or trademark claim. It is fair use.
