The item did not match the produce description. And was defective.

The member did nothing wrong. And would get free return shipping, and the full amount back for the chess set.

This is the same as buying directly from RCM directly, which I already said. So no difference than buying directly from RCM....though you would pay less when buying direct. Oh did I mention the reward points from RCM that you can't get from Amazon? I already saved an extra $50 on another set.

So no extra "3rd party protection" of any kind so far.

The problem is these companies like to deny returns, and if the do take back a return. The charge excessive return and stocking fees.

With Amazon, you have a no hassle return for 30 days. And free return shipping if the return was not your fault.

You have full 3rd party protection.

Nope that's not true either. Maybe you didn't read what I wrote (just copy and pasted) about my 100% refund and free return with an item that I bought from RCM wink.

Even through Amazon, the process is the same with most (guessing 90%) of chess items. Without the "Free returns", then you still have the same hassle of waiting on an RMA, there will be some back-and-forth through e-mails to discuss the situation to determine if it qualifies for a 100% refund or partial, and still need to wait on the refund after they receive it back.

So can you articulate just one benefit/difference from the claim of "full 3rd party protection"? Just one would be good enough for discussion.

But your a not truthful. You already said you did not have a dog in this fight.

You just make thing up from post to post as I have already shown.....

Doesn't sound like you even know what that means....and seems you're going off topic for some reason.

So can you describe a benefit of what you call "full 3rd party protection"? Or not?

Yes. If I would have bought this chess set. Like the other member. And I received a chess set in that condition.

I could jut return the chess set free of charge, and no hassle.

Not quite that simple....and not different from buying direct from RCM. So no difference. Try again.

It is that simple with Amazon.com....

And that is why I recommend to buy this way. And why I use Amazon.com when possible.

Nope, it's not that simple with Amazon. That's why I say to save your money and buy directly from the vendors when they have better prices. AND, so much of those chess pieces are not even available through Amazon, so you'll miss out on a lot of stuff if you only look on Amazon.

Wrong again. I just showed the prices....

Here is the price difference for this example.

And here is the price difference both sets are $184.95. And both have coupon discounts. RCM is 15%, and Amazon is 10% + another $9.24 Cash Back as a Amazon Prime card users.

Well, not wrong again (not sure what you're talking about). BTW, I got that set at 25% off so wink.

I’m getting pretty fed up with chess companies, and realizing it’s too much of a risk to order from most of them.

I ordered a Česká Klubovka set from Staunton Castle which arrived in a different color than what I expected based on their product photos. See this comment where I analyze the colors of the images online vs. the chess set I received.

And now I have the same problem with a Chavet chess set I ordered from Royal Chess Mall. It’s a beautiful set for a nice price, but it’s hard to appreciate that when another significant aspect deviates from your expectations. This is how the set was presented, with this stunning red Mahogany stain:

Hmm, both situations are still unresolved, and AFAIK, there hasn't been any contact to the seller, which would still be needed if they were bought through Amazon (actually I don't think you can even buy one of those sets through Amazon).

So where's the benefit of 3rd party protection?

Not if you bought the chess set today from RCM.... No 25% offer for this one chess set. The coupon is for 15%

Get 15% Off Storewide
Use Coupon Code

Nobody cares...but I bought mine with 25% off...but nobody cares.

Back to any benefit from "full 3rd party protection"....is there really any benefit that you can articulate?

"screwed over" is your understanding of articulation? Are you really not able describe any kind of benefit of your "full 3rd party protection"?

Avatar of Yenster1

You just seem to be 'cutting and pasting' some meaningless stuff. Can you not describe or define anything about your protection claim?

Avatar of Yenster1

Alright folks...you've seen it here. There's no benefit of any kind regarding the "full 3rd party protection" claim. It's just something that one person just keeps repeating for some reason, and can't even define it. And you'll probably lose money because of it.

So..."3rd party protection" = a grain of salt.

I have a whole thread of describing and showing why Amazon.com is the why to buy a chess set when possible.

All I need to do is cut and paste.... It has already been said, shown, and proven..

And yet you don't seem to know enough about it explain how anything would be different through Amazon. You haven't proved anything yet...except that your chess example actually doesn't have "Free returns".

How does FREE Returns work?

All return-eligible items, weighing under 50 lbs and sold by Amazon, have at least one free return option. You can return the item for any reason in new and unused condition for up to 30 days after purchase.

Wow...still hiding the line above your text there, just to look like you're right about something cry. Folks, here's what he keeps hiding from the rest of us. (Can everyone say 'no credibility')

=====================

What items are eligible for a FREE returns option? Amazon.com offers free returns on most items delivered to an address in the 50 United States. Look for “Free returns” next to the price to confirm that the item qualifies for free returns. Learn more about Free Returns

Yeah yeah, only part of the policy that you have taken out of context. We all can see the full context. No need to continue with only part of the policy that doesn't apply to your recommended chess sets.

From Amazon....On all items

If the item is damaged or defective, Amazon will provide a free return or replacement. Contact the manufacturer directly for product registration and warranty-related information.

Nothing like putting together words to make up a fake policy.

No cred.

If you want to close the case, then, bye now.

Deny, and lie, all you like.....

The Amazon Policy says otherwise...

Well the last time you posted an Amazon policy, you got caught conveniently leaving out the statement right above it saying it was for items that showed "Free returns". So, yeah, no cred.

You want to show a new link to your new Amazon policy that, as you say, for ALL items? Careful...you may get caught in another lie.
