"WOBBLE" chess

I don't usually go for "novelty" chess sets, but this one has me intrigued.  Back seat of a car?  Planes, trains?  Or just a windy day at the park?

In rough seas?

Yeah that is really cool. Blitz would be interesting on that set.

I too had a passing interest in this set. That is, until I read some of the reviews on Amazon.com. Like in the first picture above, some reviewers were complaining that some pieces would lean at all different angles, which would be the case if they weren't properly weighted. Call me finicky, but for that kind of money I'd want a set where all the pieces stood up straight after they wobbled.

The're bobing and weaving, looking for angles to attack like the UFC.

regi-mental

very good point, if they don't stand "up" the whole things a waste of time

Keeps the cat away from the computer all day!

it would be difficult to surrender the king with that set, since tou need to tip over the king to surrender it

You only need to shake hands to resign.

I know its 10 months since anyone posted but i had a theory about this chess set..a blind person could play with it..if they had a very very very good memory?

cehirdie
A blind person needs pieces that feels different like f.ex a rougher surface etc. Otherwise it will be easy to mix them. But off course with a very good memory it would be comparable to play blindfolded. There are sets made spesifically for blind people that are a bit more userfriendly than the wobble set :)

chess boards for the blind should be flat, so people can run their hands over them....
