Reassess Your Chess 4th edition vs 3rd edition

Hello all,

I found a cheap copy of Silman's Reassess Your Chess, 3rd edition.  I've read that the 4th edition of the book is about 200 pages longer, has been rewritten from scratch, checked by players as well as computer programs, so I was wondering if I may as well get the 4th edition, or if the material was sufficiently similar that I could just stick with the 3rd?

Vincent.

I just view them as different books because the content is different.

So if you have the 3rd already then there's no reason to throw it away. You can still get the 4th edition regardless.

I didn't know this. Now I'm going to have to check to see which edition I have.

All of the examples are literally different examples. The text is different. The chapters are arranged differently. There more chapters, including articles from his chess.com column.

He should have just given it a different title. Probably would have had more sales that way.

I wouldn't know. Either way it seems to be doing pretty well, being #4 on the amazon.com bestseller list for chess.
