The key difference in the alleged Regium board was electromagnets that moved the pieces. The Phantom board operates mote like the SquareOff board, but better. I’m hoping this one reaches production.

I suppose you're right. I guess I don't get the fixation on pieces that move by themselves. The Square Off Pro and DGT Pegasus are all you need in my opinion. I can move the pieces myself, I just don't want to look back and forth from board to screen and back again. Seems like a novelty. I'm clearly not the target demographic of this scam and the concept in general. There was a lot of interest in the board. Not judging, it's just not for me.

There is another possible scam going on. Phantom chess board. According to their Kickstarter comments, they are just fooling around with their backers. Nothing concrete there yet.

Phantom is coming along. They told me my board should arrive by late march to early April and charged for shipping, so it looks like they are the real deal
