Just wanted to jump in to state that Chess.com has not verified functionality between REGIUM's board and our platform. Our understanding is that this is still in development and is not currently functional.

We have offered to send out our representatives to the REGIUM offices in order to see if we can find a way to ensure compatibility and are currently awaiting a response.

Thanks for the update. Hope this works out as advertised and provides a way to play online without a computer.

Glad to hear it. So much potential. Let's hope the price is right and the function is as advertised.

Don't give this people any money. This is a SCAM and E02519 is part of the scam. They will run away with your money. They don't have a real board. It is a scam.

Would like to see more, think it could be great for my boy, he is 5 now, and some hands-on tech will be great.  I have gotten so used to playing on the pc that it feels strange on a real board.  I am in an isolated area and chess is not really the thing so always on the pc.

I love my square off board, never had any problems with it other than the speed. I just play longer games which works perfectly fine, and what we should be doing to improve our chess anyway!

One might assume currently Regium is a concept.  Apparently no one has seen a functioning model. You may recall when Square Off Chess was developed they showed a working model before their kickstart. Correct me if I am wrong. Regium should at least show the board and its current capabilities to management of chess.com  or give a live demonstration on YouTube.

Tried to contact the developer on twitter and they do not receive DMs so I tagged them in one of my tweet and linked this topic asking them to chime in.

lol, the developer has clearly already been very active in this thread

What I meant was that they need to address this issues brought up. Hopefully they will post another video or something that puts the doubts about their product to bed.

Chess house sent me a video for this e board today. Didnt really follow this thread but since they sent me this video I hope they sell the pieces separately as a non dgt set. I want them.

I replied to this same email and Raphael at ChessHouse responded stating: “I'm directly in touch with Regium and plan to provide whatever additional proof we are comfortable backing as a brand. I think there's little question that this device exists in the prototype phase. We want to determine that the claims of functionality are realistic and deliverable within the initial launch.  There's a lot of interest in this and I'll be following up with you again with further information to help clarify your question.” Hopefully we will see something soon.

It's odd, watching that original again made me notice that it acts differently between this and the FAQ video. In the original when a piece is taken both the taken and capturing piece move at once, in the FAQ they move separately. I wonder why the discrepancy?

Not sure but that seems to be just a programming issue to me,  not a functional issue. Maybe just a different setting selected.

153? are you sure? You have your answer in this video (2:40): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3WWuHgIwQ0

Even if the pieces would move only separately, it would be just as good.

that is a good point, but why so condensing and confrontational?  I understand that you are excited about this product as we all are, but you have lost all credibility by your heavy handed comments IMHO. No need to attack anyone that questions or brings up a point. You are only causing people to be more doubtful by your need to prove everyone wrong.

Prices will be announced on Monday prior to the Kickstarter campaign

Depending on the price (!), this looks to be just what I've been wanting. If it costs more than DGT, which is a good possibility, I could be out of luck. Moving its own pieces is secondary to me; I want it to play against Fritz on my PC so I can determine the openings, etc. I don't know why no one has been mass-producing a cheaper board like that to compete with DGT. 3 days until we find out the price of this puppy.

I don't care if people buy it or not. I only attack who attacks. If you look, you will see that almost always is the same person who questions everything, he is always anxious to find a failure desperately. His comments are not doubts, they are attacks camouflaged with education, they seem doubts but they have poison inside to generate doubts to the readers. You prove something, he looks for another, you prove it, he looks for another, and so infinitely... he always has something negative to say, including issues that touch the ridiculous. I do not like that attitude.
