With him, what you see is what you get so I never had a reason to return it. I have bought 6 sets from him now. One set I had received 2 pieces with cracks and he replaced them quickly without any charge. He will ask you if you like to order another set so he can save on shipping but if you says no he will send them anyway.

He's quite quick with responding on his chat (website, FB or Etsy) so you can ask him anything.

From how I understood it, it should be the price paid x 19 % import taxes. Usually shipping costs are added to the price paid by the customer, which then is multiplied by the above mentioned 19 % (in Germany of course).

However, since shipping is free, shouldn't there be no further costs used for multiplication besides the amount paid?

Besides, @TheOneCalledMichael could you maybe give us another one of those very nice pictures with the pieces on a 55 cm squared board, but from a players view? I think it would be great to see how the pieces, especially the pawns look on such a board.

I just uploaded on 55mm board pictures I shot last week. The longer I look at it, the more I like it. In fact, I'd say I prefer that more than 57mm board. Shot from players view I'll do that tomorrow morning.

Where did you get this board?

You guys are lucky to live where all of the old chess stuff is located. It is hard to find stuff like that in the US.

Mandeep still thieving everyone else’s ideas, what a guy. It’s a very nice set, but Mandeep didn’t design it and he supplied this particular set to frank camaratta under exclusivity and the understanding not to copy it! Problem here is Mandeep has a long history of stealing ideas of designs, designs he has agreements with vendors, he takes their orders and then undercuts his vendors at his retail outlet
He’s a common thief at core however it’s the Indian culture they can’t help themselves

Enjoy your knock off !

There are others that also sells that design for years, CB and TCE to name a few. It's very interesting to hear you stated as a fact that SC is the one that supplied the set to Frank. Do you have hard evidence for this or is it just hearsay?

JoPublic
They have all knocked off franks design. I have complete evidence and it’s not hearsay and infact why not simply telephone frank and get it from the horses mouth! Pun intended
TheOneCalledMichael

You're the one that brought this up, why should I be the one that needs to verify what you said? No pun intended.

Well, this thread took an ugly turn.

Krames

the set looks great on the 55mm squares!

stumOnner

Agreed Krames! Every photo I see of this set on all the boards in this post look simply outstanding. The craftmanship demonstrated is appreciated.  Thanks Michael.

Trouble is almost all collectors don’t give a damn about ethics morals etc, you just see the $savings.

I see your parents did an admiring job to raised you as a fine citizen.

If you wanna talk about moral, it makes me wonder why would the designers/retailers in USA outsource making the chess pieces to cheap labor countries like India in the first place? If I have to make a wild guess, to make more profit? If you're so keen on morals, why not let the locals do it? Oh wait, that would be too expensive thus less profit.

Yeah right.

Locals ? What a moronic reply ! What locals are there that carve chess pieces ?? Amritsar has been the hub of chess industry since frank camaratta educated them in how to achieve the quality benchmark required to market chess pieces on a scale you see today. Frank took his designs to Rajesh sharma and the rest is history. You have a misconception that these Indians are poor, when the reality is frank put them in the map ! Mandeep and co turnover around $600000 plus per annum and that is not poor is it ? Chessbazaar double that amount ! My parents taught me well very well and to call our scumbags for what they are
TheOneCalledMichael

We must have went to different schools and follow the news around the world differently then. So for example your american industries never had american workers, everything was made in cheap labor countries from the beginning of time and those CEO's had personally trained all those people in cheap labor countries how to make stuff for the american companies.

Keep continuing to make a fool out of yourself.

I've always found that providing zero evidence to support one's claims, making racist asides, and insulting the largest possible group of listeners, is a wonderfully effective means of persuasion.

TheOneCalledMichael

In case you still don't get my point, following what you said that Frank put Amritsar on the map because he educated them how to make those quality pieces, what stopped him from doing that to the locals and educate them how to do it? Spoiler alert, the labor cost of the locals are too high.
