Rybka is no longer strongest chess engine

Download firebird and ivanhoe at:

http://www.chesslogik.com/index.htm

I think firebird is best to try at first its multicore , and has less bugs then the ivanhoe which might be stronger but I am not sure.

I have confirmed that for any tc less than 1 minute per move these engines are far stronger than rybka.

If I write about Marxism, and use Karl Marx's ideas to improve them, and rework all the paragraphs so that none sound the same, is it a translation or a novel work?

It's just the same BS piled higher and deeper. (Ph.D.)

It's certainly not BS, it's due to marxism that masses, including you, actually have many of the rights they currently have. But that discussion doesn't belong here.

What are Karl Marx's ideas in purest form - what is the ideal society according to him? And what "rights" do you get under a pure Marxist society? I guess this is out of topic but i was curious.

Let's put it like this for now: in his ideal society, we wouldn't be having this discussion right now, as all software would be open source and non-commercial.

OK, you know what? I take everything I said back until Vas gets more serious about this and puts forward some proof. So yeah. I'll keep my suspicions to myself and delete my posts now.

What is all this fuss about Robbolito and Rybka? Firebird beats the shit out of all the other engines!! No compromise. Rybka 32 bit Dynamic did not even win a single game in all the 3 min, 5min and 15 min games.

Folks, it is clear that the Ippolito engines are more advanced than Rybka or else Vas has been fooling his customers with a lower version. There is definitely more to this than meets the eye.

It is time for Firebird and the other engines to enter the contest and start beating the shit out of the other worthless makebelieves! Period.

Firebird forever! Opensource forever! Gallows to the modern day infidels!!

I am running a gauntlet tournament with all the ippo engines vs Rybka cont=0.

Firebird and firebird beta are doing ok, but iggorit v7 has not lost a single game in 27 games so far!!!!

tc=1min+3s. custom mfl suite rev colors. on Arena win xp 32.

I think Iggorit v7 is a forgotten engine that is surprisingly strong at many time controls even stronger than firebird.. At least when comparings its score against rybka

Does iggorit v7 support multiple threads?

@zxzyx: firebird is not an updated version of Igorrit. They are derived from same source code, but branched out separately by different developers. Both firebird and igorrit compete for the strongest engine title.

Btw, which gui do you use to run engine vs engine matches?

@philidor: Both of them support multi processors.

thanks, and where do I download this iggorit v7? A quick google check didn't help, and their chesslogic website doesn't mention iggorit.

Actually, do they have any website for testing? It seems everyone does small tests here and there but it's hard to find anything conclusive.

Guys I have tried Iggorit too, on Arena yesterday. All the iggorit files from that site crash after the first move. Thats why I dropped it. Where can I get the working versions?

By the way, in 15 min and 20 min games some strange things happened. Between Rybka and Firebird, without changing any settings and giving them both the same opening book(Perfect15.ctg(free and exhaustive)) gives more draws (Fritz12 platform). Not many games tested yet. With no opening books on arena however, Firebird easily beats Rybka in the shorter tc(5,10,15).

For now, it appears that in long tc's Rybka holds.

Thanks, but that site too seems very disorganized. I couldn't find iggorit v7 there either. There's a v6fixed version, but it has serious bugs and doesn't specify if it supports multiple cpus.

I uploaded it here @chess.com.

So I just played a couple of 20' engine matches with Firebird:

Fritz 9 - Firebird:  0-1
Toga II - Firebird: 0-1
Firebird - Toga II: 1-0

Not the most scientific test ever, but I am surprised by these results.  I thought Toga II, at least, would win or draw as White.

Firebird and IvanHoe arent open source correct? And RobboLito is.. im not sure about Igorrit.

Just a side note here but they definetely can kick all our asses.

Where can I download Iggorit v 7 32 bit?

zxzyz

This person seems to have all the versions incl v7 32

http://tonythomas.mylivepage.com

Btw I use Arena for testing, and i use a test suite with each side getting to play both sides of each position.

The problem with Fritz and perfect 12 is you have to run a whole lot of games because of too much draws .. the openings are too perfect Cool

I am not sure though if v7 has problems in fritz ..hopefully not .. But I tested using arena with increment time controls like 1+1, 1+6, 1+3 ..
