Shipping from India - Covid related delay, your experience?

Hi Folks, 

I've ordered two (2) items from India recently and both are still delayed and the Fedex's Shipping depot/cargo area at New Delhi airport in India.   Packages were initially stuck in customs over the weekend (EXPORT) and Monday June 22nd, made it's way over to the Fedex facilities at the airport.

Confirmed with FEDEX customer service agent.   Today is Thursday and again it's still sitting in FEDEX facilities.   

Question to the folks who have recently ordered products from India is this PAR for the course for you?  Not complaining, as I got an amazing deal on the Chess set (Royal Chess Mall) and Chess Storage (Chess Bazaar)...    I just wanted to check in with the group to see what the experience(s) you've been having recently with your own orders from India? 

Also, another bonus question:  Were/Are your packages handled by FEDEX, DHL or UPS?

PS.  Of course I'm going to be sending in PICS of both the storage case and the new chess set as soon as they arrive!!!      

I ordered from Chessbazaar to the Netherlands and the package came crazy fast with DHL. 

Finally got an update about 30 minutes ago, packages have finally left New Delhi and has now arrived in Dubai AE...   So keeping my fingers crossed that I should have the packages arriving soon...   Pictures to share with you when the packages finally arrive...      

Unrelated but I bought a gaming mouse on Tuesday and it hasn't shipped yet and its supposed to arrive on Sunday, it better ship today

Don't get me started...I waited on a set from Royal Chess Mall for 2 1/2 months before I finally cancelled the order. Chess Bazaar on the other hand has been NINJA fast. I guess it just depends on the company.

Hi Michael - Thx for reaching out and explaining your plight.   However, in my case my delay is with the airports and logistics and not the retailer/manufacturer.  Please allow me to explain further.  To their credit both Chess Bazaar and Royal Chess Mall shipped and delivered to FEDEX both packages very quickly - I have both FEDEX tracking numbers and so both Royal and Bazaar are clear/innocent of any wrong doing on their part as it is in FEDEX possession and not still with either of these two (2) companies.

A quick telephone call to FEDEX last week has confirmed that both of these packages were stuck at the  New Delhi Airport/Customs area and that's why I reached out to the group to find out how much of delay from the INDIAN airport(s) have you personally experienced.   

I'll repeat again, I was not trying to provide NEGATIVE comments about either of these two (2) fine companies as they have been both responsive, quick and professional about getting my order placed, addressing questions about the product(s) and warranty information.  IMHO so far both companies have been exemplary in their customer service.   I was merely trying to get a baseline understanding f the COVID 19 related delays at the airport.

STATUS UPDATE!!! I am very HAPPY to say that both of these packages have finally CLEARED the INDIAN airports and have arrived and left FEDEX HUBS in Germany, Tennessee, Kentucky and now my LOCAL hub in Jamaica NY!!       Clearing of *ALL* these hubs happened in the span of 24 hours where as previously it was like watching paint dry daily with no movement/action from INDIAN airport for 6 days...  LOL -  I'm looking forward to my scheduled deliveries tomorrow by no later than 10:30am...!!!   

I will submit pictures when packages have finally arrived!!!       Thank you ONE and all for your input and comments.   They have meant the world to me and prevented me from going stir crazy wondering about the delays at the airport...

I was playing 15 second chess games on uh a different chess site and my mouse was getting slow. So i purchased one 24 times faster! Its so much faster i have it on 7/24th speed now im still getting used to it. Its really cool and light, its got RGB too. Only 29 dollars!

Oh yeah, excited to see pics of the chess boards!

The long delay in shipment from India to Europe and US is because of coronavirus. Also, as coronavirus can stay on objects for up to ten days, I personally would rather not to risk until the pandemic in India is completely over.
