Silhouettes and Reflections

Creative perhaps … but not enough commitment and hard work. The truth of the matter is that I’m ok at a few things and a master of none … hence … an average chess collection, a few good bonsai, I can noodle a guitar, play a reasonable round of golf, turn a rough shape … but alas … I haven’t fully committed to any and thus live in a land of mediocrity without mastery; that said, that land has enough interest to keep me out of trouble and enjoying the company of many fine folk with broad interests and that has its upside for sure.

That’s the spirit @Wits-end. Thank you - a beautiful silhouette that captures the style and finesse of the pieces and makes you want to sit at a board and play the great game of chess.

There’s something intriguing about the light - the shadows darker than the translucent pieces. Cool photo.👍

You have a great attitude Powder! You'll never be bored. I've got a few hobbies myself....Covid lockdown was not bad, except when I had it. Other than that, never bored.

You've got me thinking about bringing mine back out and temporarily putting the Smyslova aside!

Sorry for the delay @felonet , I’m not what one would describe as tech savvy. I hope the link works.

For no other reason than the pieces were handy, they have a beautiful shape and the lamp was next to the couch!

Powder, you own one of the seven Staunton wonders of the world. Thank you for sharing.

Powderdigit
Thanks Unge … collectors across the globe just choked on their Tea ☕️… maybe the 700 Staunton wonder. 🥴😆
And excellent photo DKW - dark and ominous …

Only the shadow knows … or perhaps an all pervading AI knows …that we are all part of the matrix … our lives being a shadow matrix. Even I’m confused by what I just wrote!! 🤦‍♂️😊

Time for a pre-dinner wine ….
