Very nice, but the board is suspiciously red. I suppose they found a way to use the blood from the victims of Stalins purges in a constructive way.

Thanks, whotookrook, but oh, let's leave old empires out of it.

She's definitely a keeper, sharpester53. A keeper.

I understand how you feel Up, the set is so beautiful and you can't stop looking at it. And the thought of playing over games with this set is quite pleasant!

I know, goodknightmike, I know. If I had that HOS Steiner Set in antiqued boxwood and black poisonwood, I wouldn't know what to do.

Up , the Steiner set is a masterpiece  as I admire it everyday! You would know what to do with this beauty!

It's a wonder it survived the 40s  in Russia.

Very nice set, I like the Knights, they have interesting lines. Also I like the Bishops.

@whotookrook -- you are a free member, you joined five days ago, and while you can insult anyone you want on the internet and generally act like an asshole to other people, in this particular forum we **try** to maintain a certain civility. The fact that you responded to @UpcountryRain 's lighthearted reply to your fairly negative comment with a ad hominem attack shows what kind of person you are. Crawl back under your rock, please.

Thanks, rcmacmillan, but let's go easy on Whotookrook. He might be alone for the holidays.

I might be an old git but I am far from miserable. Now go eat a candy cane and be good.
