Nimzowitsch's My System has an excellent chapter devoted to passed pawns, which goes into pretty good detail on weak squares. I'm afraid I don't know any books right off hand having to do with dark/light squares connected to middlegame strategies in particular.

Looking for a book about color complexes. Dark and light square color complexes, they relationships to openings and typical middlegame strategies.
Sometimes GMs talk about openings and say something like "this is dark square color opening" or "White has weak dark squares in the center but strong on the flanks". Hmm. It might be obvious if you are GM but not for me.
I am just looking for a book that would be dedicated to these and similar ideas.
