The Art of Defence in Chess by Andrew Soltis

This 1980's book has the same title as the one written by GM Polugayevsky I bought it on an outing to the United States when I was a teenager unfortunately I lent it to a guy at my school who never gave it back to me :(

If you can find Soltis's book used for $10 or $12 in good condition it's worth the money very high on the quality meter like Polugayevsky's book if you study it for months you'll learn the principles of defence, how to obtain counter play, how to create a defensive perimeter, how to restrain your opponents pieces, how to shore up your weakness's and survive ferocious attacks when your opponent is pressing you really hard and throwing the kitchen sink at you.
