The Pieces of the 1962 Varna Olympiad

Long have I wanted to acquire the Bulgarian reproduction of the set used in the 1962 Varna Olympiad. Recently, a friend pointed me to an early model Ruhla clock, which I obtained. The seller was Bulgarian, and had this set on sale for a very reasonable price, so I picked it up, too. Here is the set and the clock. The set is crudely molded bakelite, but very authentic in its design. The clock is beautiful. It's my third Ruhla Garde clock, but the only one with an inlaid border.

Very nice and I haven’t seen a reproduction of this set, so that’s another plus.

Pay special attention to the bishops and knights in the Fischer photo.
