TheChessPiece Website

I'm curious if anyone has had any recent experiences with TheChessPiece.com website. Are they still in business? The owner -- a guy named Steve Livingstone -- has refused to reply to the emails I have sent him over the past several months regarding a set I purchased well over a year ago. The set I received just prior to Christmas last year (it was actually ordered in September 2015 but it took him about three months to get it organized because it was an out of stock item at the time) was flawed and he agreed to have two new White Bishops made for me. He told me at the time it should take a month or two. It's actually been close to a year. I've never used the set. It's still in its box.

The impression I am getting is that he doesn't intend to honor his commitment.

I could write a LOT more because there were other issues involved, but I'll leave it at this for now.

So...does anyone know anything about the current status of this so-called company? I'm quite bewildered by their atrocious customer service.

Thanks for any insight.

hi: my local retail store here in Berkeley Ca sells chess sets from chess piece.com through a gaming supply house. So far they have had no problems. I have 2 sets from chess piece.com aquired this way so far so good. Now you must know that chess piece like all the other sellers of chess sets have them made in Amritsar India so because of shipping delay etc, One may not get his set when you want it. So doing the leg work online helps when you know where to look. These sets are ok for the cost as compared to HOS and some of the others. Just keep in mind that sometimes the seller may not get back with you depending how well they are doing. Chess Piece is now mostly a wholesaler now when you look at the website they like to ship in bulk and a small amount to one on one sales. I hope this helps you.
