Wow, those are very nice. I like both a lot.
Two Boards
Nice looking boards. Is that Bird's Eye Maple? Love wooden sets and boards. I have a borderless veneer board in Maple and Mahogany. Might one day get a small dinning table and cut a square hole to fit in the board and use as a poor man's chess table.

Thanks. Board 1 is curly maple. Board 2 is bird's eye maple.
Very nice, I really like the Zebrano touch.
Thanks. The Zebrano is not actually part of the initial design. He just added it at no extra cost because he has some excess from previous project.
Hmm? I thought I was the only one with such good taste. Obviously I was wrong! Really nice boards.
Thanks magic.

It really compliments and gives a very nice pop to the board.
Those look great. Tell him to write something in the forum so people could contact him if they want to place an order.

Yes, indeed

This is just a hobby of his. He has a full time job. I don't know if he would ship though. These boards are heavy and the shipping would not be cheap.
Those are very nice boards. I've been looking for a good antique board with big squares for over a year, but they seem to be rare as rocking horse poo. I was thinking I might go to the Colorado Woodworker, even if it meant paying the shipping to the UK

Thanks Matt. Colorado Woodworker is an excellent choice but if you don't like paying for shipping like me, why not find a local carpenter. I live in a small city in Canada where chess is not as popular as in England and I found one.

Trying to match them chess men / queen to a board that's right for the eye's .
I just ordered two custom boards from a local carpenter a few months ago. No shipping cost!
Board 1: 2.125", Curly Maple, Macacauba, Zebrano (175 CAD)
Board 2: 2.25", Bird's Eye Maple, Bubinga (125 CAD)
These are one sided boards.
