As I said Chinese made plastic chess sets have many issues ranging from uneven seams, dry plastic that gradually corrodes, low quality felts and weights that come off and out soon. To some of these Chinese factories yellow and ivory color mean the same thing obviously. Yellow is not the right color for chess set, light ivory or simple cream or white are more appropriate. For my part I still prefer the feel and sight of wooden chess. Wood is natural and beautiful and so pleasant to  touch and play with specially on a wooden board.

You find touching wood pleasant??

Well, I was just analyzing a game with my Sheesham and Boxwood Romanian-Hungarian Chess set from the Chess Bazaar, and I realized how right Stauntonmaster is.  I find it heartwarming that he is now promoting Chess Bazaar sets instead of plastic ones.

Hey Shelby. Just want to say again, I appreciate and admire the hard work you put into making these pieces a reality again. When/if you ever run out on those 3000 sets, do you think you'd be going with the same color or something more on the lighter side?

Over the past month (beginning on 12/13/2017) I have sent you several messages on Chess.com, and a note on your profile page, and a note on your AmChessEq.com website requesting a refund of my pre-order of 11/2/2017 (WE-2175) of the Ultimate Chess Set.  But so far you have not responded to any of my inquiries nor have you issued a refund.  Your lack of responsiveness is unsettling to say the least.  I expected better service from you.  Will you please act on this issue ASAP.  Thank you.

I feel your pain... I sent Jeff Bezos a message on Snapchat trying to return toilet paper I bought from Amazon. No response! Do you believe that? For real though you sound like a moron. This type of thing doesn't belong here. Shelby personally called me to give an update on the set. Why don't you try picking up the phone instead of DM'ing his Myspace page?

I normally don't respond to jerks on these forums, but I'll make an exception here.  First, this is none of your business.  Second, I don't need to justify myself or my actions with you or anyone.    Third, you would do better to keep your foolish opinions to yourself, as they certainly don't matter to me.

Lol.  Guy writes some private grievance on a PUBLIC forum and then says its none of my business.  Figure it out and stop whining.  People don't like complainers.

Once more. What you like or don't like is not important to me. To paraphrase a saying - you can stop talking and let people wonder whether you are a fool, or you can continue talking and confirm it for them...

Russ,

Sorry about the delay....been tied up with tournaments and the flu.  I cancelled the order for you. Just to let you know,  check the forums on Chess.com,  but rarely check the messages.  You have my apologies on that one.

@ShelbyLohrman -

Thanks.  I received your messages.  I have sent you another message on Chess.com with a question about the order.  I would appreciate your response.  I wish you much success with your Ultimate Chess Pieces.  I expect they will be a big seller.  If in the future you create a the set where the White pieces are more cream or "natural" in color, I'm sure I would be interested to order a set.

Needless to say plastic chess sets are more durable by anything sold by Chessbazaar or Official Staunton. The wood they usebis not dried and compressed properly and that is why their chess sets crack after a while.

a classique troll . you are ultimate idiot who knows zero about anything important. chess bazaar first now official staunton, who next on your hitter list to troll about ? you aiming troll at 2 company that hurt you sales the most your  are Sean sullivans from house staunton without doubt!

Plastic pieces self destruct if you put them on a wood board :-)

Maybe the new design has fixed this problem, I guess we will all find out in a few weeks :-)

Think they're talking the color. But that's interesting. Why do they self destruct?

it just isn't funny when you have to explain it, is it?

Remember how I was telling you how much of a pain it is bringing something to market?  Just got an email from our factory in China.  Turns out while making the black sides,  one of the production workers broke the mold.

They will have the pieces done the end of the month.  This means we get them the middle of January.

good thing I shaved my head this weekend.  Otherwise I would be pulling my hair out in clumps!  At least we see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I will keep you informed.

Thanks

Any update since it is the middle of January now?

I'm guessing the pieces are in a container someplace on the Pacific Ocean.

North America on the horizon!  :-)

Shelby called me a few weeks ago and said sometime in February. I guess the mold breaking set them back a few weeks.
