No Crappov, that's standard USCF Logo chess board not 75th year commemorative (out of stock at House of Staunton)...

Hey, Rick.

The logo in the pic is a standard logo but the ad copy at the website says it's the 75th Anniversary logo on h1.

"Our Premium Vinyl Tournament Chessboard proudly features both the US Chess Federation logo along the edge and the US Chess Federation 75th Anniversary logo on the h1 square."

Best to call them and make sure, though.

Thanks Crappov... I already asked for that, the description isn't updated. That chess board is out of stock sad.png

So is it allowed to have logos on chess boards?

I believe it's allowed, but I would never own one, and I would refuse to play a tournament game on one.

Why? And if you refuse won't you forfeit?

I agree with @EscherehcsE , what next a logo on every square? It's distracting and not necessary.

I would argue that the board is nonstandard, and if I lost the argument, yes, I would rather forfeit the game. And I'd probably pull out of the tournament.

I mean if it had a logo only on one square.

 It's not that distracting.

Yep, a logo only on the h1 square is nonstandard in my opinion.

Okay. But just saying, USCF sales sells one set like that...

Fine, as long as I'm not forced to buy one... :)

Thanks for the question.  I do have a Black and White squared Vinyl Chess Board USCF Commemorative Logo; although quite authentic: it is written on the left side of the board: US (USCF) 1-800-388-King!

When you're eye-scanning the board, especially in time trouble, your peripheral vision might think it detects a Rook on h1, and that would certainly skew your analysis. Even once you've dismissed that possibility, you've lost a bit of time. I'd say no logo on any square.

Trust me, a logo does not look anything like a rook. And here is the board I am talking about. https://www.houseofstaunton.com/legend-series-chess-set-box-and-board-combo-15341.html

What do you think?
