Chess coaches search by language and hourly rate

Is there a way on chess.com to search for chess coaches by offered languages and hourly rate range?  It is hard to sift through all the coach cards, and many of them do not contain information on hourly rates or offer languages.

Last I looked through that page, no. It’s a seek and find mission honestly. You could spend hours looking through those coaching profiles and sending feelers out to potential ones.

Yes, it is a laborious process. In the absence of the filtering functionality, I did exactly that. It would be great if at some point the functionality evolves to include searching by rates, language, and perhaps coach reviews happy.png

I would be interested. Can you please share? Also the lesson format, and hourly rates?

My coach is GM Zoltan Medvegy (peak FIDE 2572, has beaten strong players like Ivanchuk, Berkes, etc). When I started lessons in February of this year, I was around 650 USCF rating. In 8 months of coaching (one month I could not take lessons), he has managed to take me to 1413 USCF and 1226 FIDE. My friend who took chess lessons from him also saw his chess.com rating soar from ~700 to ~1700 chess.com in 4 MONTHS. Btw, I can provide on my or my friends improvement if you want. He is a very friendly and knowledgeable coach, and he has been extremely helpful in getting me to gain ELO at a fast rate.

During lessons, we analyze my games. He gives advice on how to remove issues, and then will use drills to reenforce the material shared during class. We also built an opening repertoire for me that is adjusted to my play style. In case you are curious:

White: Ruy Lopez (main weapon), English Opening (2nd weapon), London (final weapon)

Black:

D4 - Semi-Slav (main weapon into d4), Dutch Defense (2nd weapon into d4)

E4 - Kan, Taimanov, and Classical Sicilians (main weapons into e4), French (also a main weapon), and Caro-Kann as a second weapon).

Zoltan's lessons cost 60/hour, however if you plan on taking lessons regularly, he is willing to offer a decent discount on the hourly rate.

You (or anyone else if interested) can feel free to send me a chess.com message if you are interested or have any questions.
