I'm writing this post to express my gratitude to the chess.com team for creating the new Lessons feature. Wow, really. You guys have seriously overhauled this part of the site. The accessibility of the lessons from Beginner to Advanced is seriously impressive.
I can confirm that having finished the Intermediate Lessons and most of the Advanced Lessons, I have seen serious improvement in my ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of a position under the time pressure of the 3 min blitz format, and I have also seen a significant reduction in blundering from winning to losing, all the while playing better moves faster.
I can further confirm that a basic understanding of the principles outlined in these lessons and applying them whenever you can is enough to get your blitz game into the 1600-1700 range, and repeating the lessons will likely push you even further.
The tone of voice and pronunciation are spot on and make the lessons accessible even to non-native English speakers, helping to maintain a positive attitude and interest all throughout. I am absolutely thrilled with these lessons, and I am further hopeful that this format will extend into the old lessons, where it would also be great to have the texts proof-read and read out loud during the beginning of the lesson and throughout.
Thanks again for your constant dedication to improvement and chess education.
I agree with you at the point that the pronunciation make the lessons accessible for non-native English speakers. Please, who is the chess master that put his voice in the videos?
